Build your own Workspace

Designed a system where users can manage multiple network areas through dedicated workspaces, eliminating the need for filter adjustments on individual cards.

The Product: Google Ad Manager (GAM), provides a one stop solution for publishers to manage and optimize their ad revenue. GAM provides ads infrastructure to the largest and most complex companies in the world.

The Opportunity : The current homepage design presents a challenge for users who manage multiple areas, such as publishers overseeing both video and app inventory. These users require a more granular view of their assets. While filters exist, they are not ideal. Publishers need a way to separate their workspaces to view each area (e.g., video, app) holistically, eliminating the need for constant filtering and enabling a more efficient and comprehensive overview of their assets.

Impact: What's amazing about this feature is that it was a direct ask from our users repeatedly through our help tickets! This feature will allow for users to personalize their experience making them more efficient in their day to day.

Solution: Create a way for uses to have multiple workspaces on GAM's homepage

Users will click on the dropdown and select "create new workspace" from here they are able to name their workspace with the option to add a description that will appear as a tooltip to help users specify what each workspace contains

Once users save their workspace they can switch from each workspace within the dropdown allowing for users to better manage their time and use of the homepage. Users are able to complete quick actions such as copy and delete workspaces within the dropdown. Once users select their new workspace they are able to begin filling it with custom cards.

Use case: User creates a workspace for app data (represented in the video above)

The Problem: Users, publishers may be responsible for multiple areas within their network. For example, a user may wish to see their video inventory separately from their app inventory. Rather than having all available app and video assets together and needing to adjust filters to highlight each area in the workspace users are looking for a way to separate their workspaces to see each area holistically.
